Joseph P. Gillette Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Joe has twenty-five years of experience in the telecommunications industry and is a recognized industry pioneer and visionary leader. Following seven years as a top performer in sales and sales management at Executone Information Systems, Joe founded his first company, Gillette Global Network, in 1995. GGN quickly became one of New York’s most successful CLEC’s. As the company grew, he raised significant additional capital to pursue a building-centric or “BLEC” model, a term he coined. GGN became a recognized leader in that marketplace as well.

In December, 2000 Joe merged GGN with Eureka Broadband to create Eureka Networks and ran the combined entity for 4 years; shortly thereafter, Eureka was sold to Broadview Networks for $100M. Mr. Gillette founded Stage 2 Networks in late 2004 and launched operations in early 2005.

During his entrepreneurial career, Joe has received more than $70M in investor capital. He was awarded the American Business Awards Gold Stevie® for Executive of the Year in Telecom in 2012.

Joe graduated from the Harrisburg Academy, which named him Alumnus of the Year and featured speaker for the Class of 2012 graduation ceremony. He was inducted into the Harrisburg Academy Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004 and served on the Harrisburg Academy Athletics Hall of Fame Committee in 2006 and 2007. He is a current member of the Board of Trustees and serves as President of the Alumni Council.

Mr. Gillette earned a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as President of his fraternity and Captain of the lacrosse team. He was also inducted into the Friars Senior Honor Society.

Gillette co-founded the Cloud Communications Alliance with other regionally successful telecommunications companies. He currently serves on the Alliance Board, as well as on the boards of two other privately held telecommunications companies in the NY metro area.

T. Thomas Faherty Chief Technology Officer

As the primary technical leader of the company, Tom is responsible for engineering the company's core network, systems and carrier infrastructure, guiding the on-going development of operational support systems, developing products and service offerings, and cultivating strategic relationships with key technology partners.

Tom has over seventeen years of experience in the design, deployment and management of carrier-grade service provider platforms in domestic and international markets. He also has extensive experience in the management of service provider operational teams including sales engineering, field support, NOC support, provisioning and engineering.

He is an expert in WAN/LAN technologies for enterprise class customer deployments and service provider infrastructures, as well as PSTN services and Voice/VoIP applications. His information security skills sets include network and systems risk assessment, vulnerability testing, control structures and incident response procedures.

Prior to joining Stage 2 Networks, Mr. Faherty held numerous senior executive operations and engineering positions at CTI, Eureka Networks which was bought by Broadview, Bluestream Communications, SMN which was bought by France Telecom, and Globix which was bought by NEON Broadband.

Tom received his BA in Computer Science from Thomas Edison State College and is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Associate Member of the US Internet Industry Association (USIIA) and past contributor to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

Jay Kim Chief Financial Officer

Reporting directly to the CEO, Jay oversees all financial operations of the company including budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, M&A activities, and funding. He supervises the Finance department and is the chief financial spokesperson for the organization. Jay has a distinguished fifteen year career in the communications industry and is a recognized expert in strategic and operational planning and M&A facilitation.

Jay’s career has included many senior roles in sales, finance, and marketing, as well as network engineering and operations and provisioning in the communications sector. Prior to joining Stage 2 Networks, he served as Director of Finance with Broadview Networks, where he managed client relationships in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and facilitated the successful merger of Broadview with InfoHighway Communications and Eureka Networks.

At Eureka Networks and Gillette Global Networks, Jay led teams responsible for all network integration, optimization, and expansion projects for the multi-million dollar Building Local Exchange Carrier. In this pivotal role, he and his team established a track record of success and consistently exceeded client satisfaction, revenue and cost reduction goals.

Throughout his career, Jay has consistently demonstrated skillful leadership in motivating large cross-functional teams to successfully deliver new product and service offerings and implement complex network consolidations; while driving measurable client satisfaction and exceeding corporate business objectives.

Jay was a Dean’s List Graduate and received his BA in Economics from Columbia University in 1998. He also completed advanced studies in Managerial Accounting and Concepts of Financial Reporting at North Carolina State University in 2009.

Matthew Kessler Vice President – Customer Service and Network Operations

Matt is responsible for managing Stage 2’s network and customer support operations.  Daily responsibilities include driving process improvement and quality assurance initiatives to provide an exceptional customer experience, increase revenue, and enhance profitability with a focus of improving the company’s competitive advantage. 

Matt has over 18 years of experience in communications.  During his service in the United States Marine Corps, he was responsible for numerous microwave and satellite communications deployments both within the continental US and deployments abroad.  He was recognized and awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for exceptional service during Operation Cobra Gold in 1997.  Since leaving the military, Matt has held several operations management positions, including three years with On-Site Access, where he was Director of Field Operations.  Prior to joining Stage 2, he was the Manager of Network Operations and Customer Engineering at Eureka Networks.

Ernesto Martynek Vice President - Service Delivery

From Project Management to Network Provisioning to post-install Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletions to customer accounts, Ernesto is responsible for the timely and error-free execution of service delivery processes for Stage 2.  He ensures a positive customer experience by providing oversight and management of project planning and technical issues.  Ernesto assists the Sales team in pre-sales proposal designs, ensuring a match between customer requirements and the solutions being sold.

Ernesto has over twenty years of experience in all aspects of telecommunications operations including engineering, construction, installation, maintenance, and call center management.  Prior to joining Stage 2 Networks, Ernesto held numerous senior operations positions at Verizon.  He was Director of Customer Care operations for the Northeast region and also managed the New York Enhanced Verizon Resolution Centers and Northeast Customer Advocacy organizations.  In this capacity, he led an organization of 500+ employees and managed an annual budget of more than $40M.    

A Magna Cum Laude graduate from the State University of New York, Institute of Technology, Ernesto earned a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications and holds a Master of Science in Management of Technology from Polytechnic University.  He is also a veteran of the US Army, proudly serving 5 years as an enlisted soldier.

Pati Ross Vice President - Marketing

As the company’s chief marketing officer, Pati is responsible for corporate branding, content marketing, website management, collateral, new media, e-communications, advertising, public relations, and market research. She is a senior level marketing, communications and branding executive, with more than 23 years of executive management experience in the telecommunications and health care market sectors.

At RCN Corporation, Pati was Sr. Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where she reorganized the Product, Marketing and Sales structure and created a new advertising and communications campaign to refocus the corporate image and brand. She also developed a fully integrated “product bundle” including cable, internet and voice service as a single product offering.As a result, she Increased client subscriptions by 20% and increased annual sales by approximately $70,000,000.

While at Velocita Corporation, where she was Sr. Vice President of Strategic Planning and Operations, she drove the product development and launch of products that resulted in $119M in annual sales during the first year of operation.

Earlier positions in Pati’s career include VP of Strategic Global Marketing and Sales Operations for Global Crossing, VP – Business Opportunity and Network Design for AT&T and various senior executive positions at Teleport Communications Group. She was also Managing Director of The Platinum Group, a management, marketing and financial consulting firm for the medical sector.

After attending the University of Pittsburgh, Pati received AT&T’s prestigious Executive Leadership and Six Sigma training.  She has been CALA certified in the healthcare industry.
